And with all the filters (oil, fuel and coolant) positioned above the frame rails you'll be in and out before you finish your first cup of Joe. The DD13 shares 65% of its parts with the DD15™ plus its common service operations ensure trained technicians are available. Demand Performance.

Driving the DD13 gives you power and torque on demand. With a peak torque range of up to 500 RPM — from 1,100 to 1,600 RPM — your “sweet spot” is a larger “sweet stretch.” The engine's robust construction extends our track-record of engines with a B50 life of one million miles. Another big part of the reliability stems from the asymmetrical turbocharger — it has fewer moving parts versus the competitor's VGT or waste-gated turbocharger. Other key performance features include:

  • Engine brake with up to 546 braking horsepower

  • Ribbed cast iron block that lowers noise vibration harshness (NVH)

  • Integrated asymmetrical turbocharger

  • Amplified Common Rail System (ACRS™) to optimize fuel management
